Set in a quiet residential neighbourhood 500 yards from York’s outer ring road, convenient for travel around the city as well as further afield, Langley Gate also benefits from easy access to quiet cycle routes and footpaths. Fifteen minutes’ walk away, National Cycle Route 65 provides a peaceful path to York city centre via Rawcliffe Ings, alongside delightful parks and into the Museum Gardens. Local bus services link the development with the city centre and York railway station, while Poppleton station, ten minutes’ walk away, is a stop on the York to Leeds line. The varied, cosmopolitan cultural life and attractions of York city centre are just five minutes away by train.
Four hundred yards away there is a 24- hour M&S Food store. More local shops and takeaways, including pharmacies and a post office, can be found within walking distance, and a large precinct at Acomb, a mile and a half away, presents a comprehensive choice of shops and services. Kay and Hayley happened upon Miller Homes’ Langley Gate development whilst on the way to their favourite breakfast place and the rest, as they say, is history.
“At the beginning of the year we knew we wanted to move and to find a home that would be big enough for us so that we wouldn’t incur the expense of moving again,” said Kay. “We had no fixed ideas on what we wanted, just three bedrooms rather than two, but as soon as we saw the show home at Langley Gate we fell in love with the development and quality of the homes. It was in such a lovely location and so close to the city that we decided to look more closely at the four-bedroom properties available.”
After studying floor plans and room layouts, the couple decided that a four-bedroom detached Inglewood home best suited their needs as it offered two reception rooms and a separate utility.
They reserved their plot and were about to commence the Part Exchange scheme with the housebuilder, which would have seen them simply swap their old home for a new one where Miller Homes would, in effect, have become their cash buyer. However, before the paperwork had been signed their current home was sold in just three days!
“The York property market has remained incredibly buoyant, and we were delighted that our home sold so quickly, and that we were able to buy our new one,” said Kay. “We were really impressed with the entire process of buying a new home and it’s been really straightforward. Jo, the Development Sales Manager, kept us up to date throughout and since we have moved in the site team rectified the handful of cosmetic snags that we had within days.”
The couple also explored all their options with the additional Choices Package to upgrade elements of their home opting for flooring throughout, upgraded bathroom tiling and upgraded appliances in the kitchen.
“It was important to us that this home was perfect as we knew that we wanted to settle in this superb location for good,” said Kay. “We are incredibly happy with our new home and would definitely recommend the entire Miller Homes Yorkshire team for making our house move so straightforward and enjoyable.”
