After and pre-school care is available at Simply Play,  who can take children to both primary schools, and collect them afterwards. The development is in the catchment area for West Calder High School, which has recently moved into a new state-of-the-art building, and for St Margaret’s RC Academy. The large East Calder Medical Practice, offering a full range of general services as well as specialised clinics, is conveniently located less than a mile away, close to both the local dental surgery and the village pharmacy.
