Perfectly placed for professional commuters, Bo’ness also has great motorway access. It’s just a five minute drive to Linlithgow train station, which operates a frequent, speedy service to all major routes including Edinburgh and Glasgow. The town is in a prime position for travelling across the central belt too, with the Forth Road Bridge and new Queensferry Crossing close by.
There are lots of local boutiques in the town centre, while it’s just a 20 minute car ride to Falkirk’s The Howgate Shopping Centre, for all the latest high street trends. Lovers of the great outdoors won’t be disappointed either. Whether enjoying a peaceful coastal stroll along Bo’ness shore, overlooking the Firth of Forth, or exploring one of the scenic walking trails at Kinneil Wood, there’s plenty to choose from.
Weekends here are often spent visiting one of the many attractions, making for a fun day out for all ages. Residents can learn about the area’s Roman heritage at the Kinneil Museum, head to the historic Blackness Castle or take a stream train ride at the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway.
Fans of culture will love the Barony Theatre and the nearby Hippodrome Cinema, which is Scotland’s oldest purpose built cinema – both have a jam-packed schedule to keep everyone entertained. After a busy day out, Bo'ness has a wide range of restaurants, pubs and cafes to choose from, serving up hearty meals, pizzas, Indian dishes and family-focussed buffets.
