Miller Homes Scotland West wins best medium development at Homes for Scotland Awards
Miller Homes Scotland West has secured a major win at the prestigious Homes for Scotland Awards, with its Chapel Gardens development in Dumbarton named Best Medium Development.
Built on the former site of St Michael’s Primary School and Notre Dame Convent, which had lain vacant for years, Chapel Gardens has transformed a long-derelict brownfield site into a thriving new neighbourhood of 81 high-quality homes in the heart of West Dunbartonshire.
The award celebrates the successful regeneration of the site into a vibrant new community for families. Located on Havoc Road, Chapel Gardens has become one of Dumbarton’s most popular new developments, reflecting the area’s growing appeal as a place to live. Buyers are attracted by its strong transport links to Glasgow, proximity to Loch Lomond and the River Clyde, excellent outdoor amenities and established community feel.
Andrew McArthur, Regional Operations Director for Scotland West at Miller Homes, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Chapel Gardens has been recognised with this award. It is a hugely significant achievement for the entire team and reflects the care, collaboration and expertise that has gone into delivering this development.
“From the outset, our ambition was to create a place that not only delivered high-quality homes but also made a positive contribution to the wider Dumbarton community by transforming a challenging brownfield site into an attractive and sustainable neighbourhood.
“We are extremely grateful to our neighbours, the Carmelite Sisters at the Carmelite Monastery at Craigend House, who have been incredibly supportive throughout the construction process and during the challenges we faced along the way.
“Dumbarton continues to grow in popularity with homebuyers thanks to its fantastic location, strong sense of community and access to some of Scotland’s most impressive natural surroundings. Chapel Gardens is a development we are incredibly proud of, and this recognition is fantastic for everyone involved.”
Miller Homes was also named Large Home Builder of the Year at the awards ceremony, which took pace in Edinburgh on Friday 15 May.
