Brothers become neighbours at new homes development in Seaburn

Brothers Craig and Lee Henderson have recently settled into brand-new homes in Seaburn, with just four doors separating the siblings at Miller Homes’ new coastal development Sandbrook Meadows.

Accountant Craig and his wife Christina, who is a teacher, were looking for the perfect family home for them and their 11-month-old twin sons Finley and Arthur, moving from a two-bedroom home into the four-bedroom Stevenson house style.

Lee and his partner Abbey who are both teachers have bought their first home, choosing the four-bedroom Mitford house style where they used the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme*.

The brothers both fell in love with the location of Sandbrook Meadows with it being just 400 yards from the Blue Flag award-winning Seaburn Beach, and around a five-minute walk to the sea front’s cafes and restaurants. The local amenities also ticked boxes for both families, as well as how close they’d be to friends and family, and each other.

Craig said: “We loved the location of Sandbrook Meadows, and as we were looking to buy a bigger new-build home since having the twins, the development and the house itself stood out as being excellent, and just what we were looking for to raise the children.

“Lee followed the development from the start and was always giving me the latest information even before we were considering moving home. So when we decided to move, we already knew everything about the development, and the location was a big part of the overall decision.”

Lee said: “Before reserving our home we viewed lots of show homes on Miller Homes sites across the region, and were amazed by the quality and size of the homes. We looked at other house builders’ developments too, but Miller Homes was the stand out builder because of the quality of the homes. We particularly love our kitchen diner which includes a 3-seater breakfast bar, and the lounge is huge!

“Craig and I are really close so it’s great being a few doors down from him, especially as I’m an uncle now and get to see the twins all of the time. We both moved in last December and are over the moon with our homes.”

Sandbrook Meadows has been hugely popular with buyers, drawn to the development’s coastal setting within walking distance of the beach. With only a few homes remaining on the development, house hunters will need to act quickly in order to secure their dream home. Prices start from £394,950**, with four and five-bedroom house styles available to choose from.

Debbie Whittingham, area sales director at Miller Homes Teesside, said: “Sandbrook Meadows has been a huge hit among homebuyers, and has almost sold out in record time. More people are now looking for a home with access to open spaces nearby for walks and to enjoy the outdoors, so the combination of location and quality of the homes has played a big part in the development’s popularity.

“I’m really happy to hear both Craig and Lee are settled and happy in their new homes. It’s a real delight knowing the brothers who clearly have a close relationship can share their new chapters of their lives just four doors apart.”
