Miller Homes Midlands Prepares for 2014 Expansion

MidsMap

Miller Homes Midlands has announced plans to build more than 450 new homes in the region.

The properties will be spread across nine new sites, all of which are planned to launch within the next 12 months.

Six of the new developments will be based in the West Midlands, including the Sutton Goldings development in Kidderminster, due to open February 2014, where 14 three, four and five-bedroom homes will be built.

Amongst the other new land to be developed is a 6.5-acre site on Aqueduct Road in Shirley, where 100 two, three and four-bedroom homes are planned.

In Worcestershire, Miller Homes plans to build 30 new two, three and four-bedroom properties will be built across 2.6-acres on land in Clifton-on-Teme. Staying in the county, a 1.1-acre site on Walkers Lane in Worcester will feature 17 three and four bedroom homes.

Also entering the Miller Homes portfolio is a collection of 88 two, three and four-bedroom properties, which will be built over 5.26-acres in Knowle.

Completing the line-up of new developments in the West Midlands is a 4.47-acre site on Burton Road in Tutbury, which will be home to 47 new two, three, four and five-bedroom properties.

2014 will also see Miller Homes expand its presence in the East of the region, with 73 new homes earmarked for land in Derby and 47 properties planned for Market Harborough in Leicestershire. They will be joined by a site in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, where 37 homes will be built.

For Paul Walters, associate director at Miller Homes Midlands, this latest announcement is testament to the buoyancy of the property market.

“There is no doubt that we find ourselves in a stronger position than we did 12 months ago.

“The Government-backed Help to Buy scheme has certainly been pivotal and has really given people the confidence to move. It has been the boost that the property market needed.

“Our performance was also bolstered by having greater availability, with a host of new developments launching last year. The sales rate shows that we made the right acquisitions and that the old adage of ‘location, location, location’ is still of utmost importance.

“It’s great to be able to start the New Year by announcing a host of forthcoming sites and we also have several other exciting land opportunities in the pipeline too.”

Miller Homes currently has a number of active developments in the West Midlands, covering Birmingham, ShropshireCoventry and Gloucestershire.
