A YOUNG couple from Gateshead have been able to move into their dream home to start family life together thanks to the Government’s NewBuy mortgage scheme. 

26-year-old Helen Moscrop and her partner Tom Rock, were able to purchase a three-storey Edinburgh townhouse on the Miller @ Bishops Park development in Gateshead using the NewBuy scheme whereby they paid a 5% deposit and received a 95% mortgage.

NewBuy offers a helping hand for buyers who have limited funds for a deposit on their new home. Lenders participating in the scheme will then provide a 90-95% loan to value mortgage for those who meet their qualifying criteria.
