Many people are unable to purchase a home or move house because of the large deposits required in today’s difficult mortgage market. The NewBuy (available in England) and MI New Home (Scotland) schemes are designed to help overcome this deposit gap.
They are aimed at those who already own a home or at first time buyers who only have funds for a 5% deposit. These schemes will allow loans to be secured at 95% of the property’s value. Home buyers wishing to take advantage of the schemes will need to qualify for a mortgage with a mortgage lender in the usual way and be subject to the lender’s normal assessment criteria.
NewBuy and MI New Home are available to UK citizens and those with a right to remain indefinitely in the country. The schemes cover full home ownership only, so they are not available for shared equity or shared ownership. They are available for the purchase of a person’s primary home only, so not for second homes or investment or buy-to-let purchases.
With over 97% of our customers recommending us to their best friend, and a 5 star award for customer satisfaction, the best company to make the most of the 95% mortgage* initiatives has to be Miller Homes.
