Situated just three miles from junction 34 of the A1(M), 20 minutes’ drive from Doncaster and a little over half an hour from Sheffield, Harworth is linked with Worksop and Doncaster by buses that stop a few minutes’ walk from Simpson Park. The development is named in honour of one of the UK’s greatest ever cyclists, Tom Simpson, who was born in the town. His many achievements are marked by a memorial stone near the entrance to the development.
Access to shops and services is outstanding. As well as a large Asda supermarket on the edge of the development, nearby Scrooby Road contains a post office, a family butcher, convenience and food stores, hairdressers, a choice of food takeaways and the local library. Further along, there is a large Aldi supermarket and a home and garden discount store. All of these are within half a mile of Simpson Park. The Blacksmith’s Arms pub on Main Street complements the wide choice of cafés, restaurants and pubs in easy reach in the many surrounding towns and villages. The Phoenix Theatre in Bawtry, two miles away, is the home of a local amateur dramatic society. It also hosts a film society and folk and blues evenings.
Leisure amenities include Bircotes and Harworth Sports Pavilion on the edge of Simpson Park which, as well as providing sports facilities, hosts family days such as those organised by Harworth and Bircotes First, a voluntary group that organises community events. Bircotes Leisure Centre, ten minutes’ walk away, incorporates a 20m swimming pool, cardio machines, a cycle studio, sports courts and a sauna, and Styrrup Hall Golf and Country Club, the nearest of the two local golf courses, also offers dining for non members.
There are two nurseries and three schools within approximately half a mile of Simpson Park. The two primary schools, Harworth C of E Academy and St Patrick’s RC Primary, and the high school, Serlby Park Academy, are all assessed as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. There is also a full range of health services virtually on the doorstep. Harworth Primary Care Centre in Scrooby Road, which houses three GP practices including the Tickhill and Colliery Medical Practice, has an adjacent pharmacy. Robinson’s dental surgery is only a few yards from the entrance to the development, and an optician, Woolcott’s, can be found a little further along Scrooby Road.

Jake and Josh made the move to Simpson Park in Autumn 2023..
Located just a few miles from Doncaster, and the towns of Bawtry and Tickhill, the couple were drawn to the fantastic location of their new home citing it as a ‘village within a village’. It was also ideally suited for an easy commute to Meadowhall close to where they both work, and to remain near their families.
Having previously owned another new build home from a different housebuilder, the couple stumbled across the development when they were out driving looking for a different style of property that would suit their needs more, and their love of entertaining.
Jake commented; “It was by sheer luck that we found Simpson Park and Miller Homes, and we are so pleased that we did!
“Since our very first visit to the Sales Centre and show home, we knew this was the house type, and the housebuilder, that we wanted to make our next move with, due to the build quality, which far exceeded that of our previous home.
“Vicky, our Development Sales Manager, kept us up to date at all stages and made sure we enjoyed every step of the process.”
Jake and Josh purchased a three-bedroom, semi-detached Overton style of home which allowed them to have the full-sized dining room table they had been dreaming of as well as plenty of space for them, friends and their two cats.
Furthermore, as experienced new home purchasers, they knew what to expect in terms of how they can be personalised, if reserved early enough in the build process, and that they would once again reap the benefits from new build properties being more energy efficient.
They sold their existing home in just five days, and chose a Miller Homes incentive, available at the time, that allowed them to choose upgrade options that included tiling, turf, carpets, spotlights and integrated appliances, further enhancing the finish of their home.
“Being able to use the Choices package from Miller Homes meant we could create our dream home with all those little finishing touches we had on our wish list,” concluded Jake. “I’m an interior designer at heart, and I’m really looking forward to decorating and styling our amazing new home and making it our own.
“We’re really good at meeting new people so moving to a new home in a new location didn’t faze us at all. Everyone has been really friendly, and the Miller Homes team are incredibly helpful, making moving home a real pleasure.”
