Name: Andrew Davies

Position: Operations Director, Miller Homes Yorkshire

What does your job involve?

I am responsible for the day to day and strategic operations of each element of the business within the Yorkshire region. It's a diverse portfolio and incorporates all aspects of delivering new homes to the region right from land acquisition and planning through to sales, build and customer services.

Where did you start your career?

I have worked for several housebuilders during my career predominantly in production roles such as Construction Director, Contracts Manager, Site Manager, and Site Engineer. Each of these roles has given me valuable knowledge and experience in dealing with the opportunities and challenges of my current role.

What skills or qualifications do you have?

I started with an Honours Degree in Construction and have since acquired the Fellowship of Chartered Institute of Building. My degree gave me a really good grounding for joining the construction sector whilst my professional qualification has given me a competitive advantage over others and consolidated my status in the industry.

There are three things to remember:

Always follow things through and make sure you complete the task in hand

Pay great attention to detail
