Family Swaps Village Life For Dream Home In Bustling Market Town

A family had relocated from a small, sleepy Lincolnshire village to a thriving market town in Hampshire in just eight weeks, with help from Miller Homes.

Vivienne explained: "We needed to move to the area for family reasons, and took the opportunity to embrace a new way of life too. We used to live in an old character home in a small village but wanted our children to be more independent, so we needed somewhere with great transport links and amenities.  Vivienne, who works as a travel agent, chose the four-bedroom Mitford style house type, opting for a new build home to ensure the move was as simple and stress-free as possible.

She continued: "With us moving so far away, most of my search was done on the internet and we had to make our decision using online images and floor-plans for reference. When we bought our new home, I didn't think we would even get to see it before we moved in but we did briefly and I was pleased - it exceeded our expectations.

"It was difficult to choose between another older home and a new build, but this house offers us so much space and is a great family-friendly design. The big kitchen diner, which I love, and traditional features such as a bay window, really made this eye-catching property perfect for us. It was different to the rest I saw on the market and stood out to me compared to new build homes available from other housebuilders.

"Our budget stretches further in Lincolnshire than Alton too, so scheme like Help to Buy really helped our decision.

Vivienne added : "Due to the distance, our Miller Homes development manager, Juliette was a real asset, doing much of the legwork when we couldn't physically be on the site. It was a real time crunch to get the chain through in just two months, but Juliette reassured us every step of the way and made sure the process - which could have caused a lot of headaches - went smoothly!"
