Young Couple Beat The Crowd To Buy Their Dream Home

Finding a new home can be a challenging situation especially in an area where more affordable new homes are hard to come by.  But a little determination and an early start ensured one couple got more than they hoped for.

Tom Watson and Natalie who are both teachers in Wetherby made the move back to the town after discovering that leading housebuilder Miller Homes were to build a new development of two, three and four bedroom homes close to the town centre.

“We were so pleased to hear of the development and ensured we were there on the opening morning at 6am to give us the best chance of securing the house style and plot we wanted,” said Tom. “Luckily we were the first in the queue and were able to secure our chosen plot which meant our house buying dreams became all we hoped they would and more!”

Both previously taught in different areas of the county and chose to make Wetherby their home in order to be closer to family. But, were challenged with finding a long term property that they could afford in the area.  Miller Homes is one housebuilder that offers the Government Help to Buy initiative which gave Tom and Natalie the chance to purchase their ‘long term home’ a three bedroom ‘Kipling’.  Following their success with Help to Buy Tom and Natalie were not only the first to reserve but, the first to move onto Privas Court on Audby Lane.

This means that buyers only need to secure up to a 75% mortgage from a bank or building society making the scheme ideal for first time buyers.
