Sheffield Family Find Their Forever Home

A chance sighting of a new homes development in a leafy suburb of Sheffield led to one family finding their ‘forever’ home.

The Rodgers Family were looking for a new, second hand home, when they stumbled over Norton Green, a development by leading housebuilder Miller Homes and were instantly smitten with the homes on offer and the location.

“We had missed the opening weekend and were so disappointed to find that the first release of homes had all been sold,” said Helen Rodgers, 48, a primary school administration assistant. “However, we were able to put our name down on a waiting list and when the next releases were made available we were thrilled to be able to secure our new home.”

Helen, with her husband Simon, 49, a South Yorkshire fire officer and teenage sons Tom, 17 and Jack 13, chose a three bedroom ‘Derwent’ home and due to their early reservation were able to enjoy the process of seeing their new home constructed and choose their interior fittings such as kitchen, bathrooms and wall tiles, a main factor when they decided to choose a new build home over a pre-owned one.

“It was great to see our new home take shape and we were delighted that we could tailor our home to suit our needs including upgrading the kitchen and bathrooms to create a real ‘wow’ factor as well as choosing to have carpets, lighting and other fixtures and fittings so that all we had to do was unpack our boxes,” said Helen. “Pat, our sales adviser, kept us up to speed at every stage of the process and has been a real support, making it a fantastic time for us. We are still so happy with the entire Miller Homes experience.”

Sales at Norton Green continue to remain high but there are a selection of five bedroom homes currently available priced from £382,500 and four bed properties priced from £325,000.
