Miller Homes Most Romantic Couple Buy Their First Love Nest

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Miller Homes is revealing its most romantic housebuyers after a couple got engaged on the plot of land soon to be their brand new property.

Matthew Payne popped the question to his girlfriend Layla Tweedie at the new Miller Homes development in Gilston, Hertfordshire.

On a visit to the Terlings Park site, Matthew got down on one knee on the piece of land where their new home is soon to be built, and as Layla explains, it was all quite a surprise.

“Matthew told me we were going to the site to take some photos of where our new house is being built but when we got there he got down on one knee. He said he was so excited we were buying our first house together and couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with me. He then said ‘will you marry me’.

“I replied yes instantly and then he took me for a meal at the pub we went to on our first date, which is now soon to be our ‘local’ in the village.”

Nursery Practitioner Layla and Matthew, who works for The London Underground, now can’t wait to move into their brand new home and start their married life together.

The couple purchased their new immaculately designed and spacious property at Terlings Park just before Christmas and are hoping to move in this summer.
Layla went on to explain: “We have always wanted to buy a new build as it gives us a blank canvas to create and develop it how we want it, which is so exciting.

“We can’t wait to move in to our new house and we’re really looking forward to nice summer walks and bike rides along the river.“
