Homes So Good Even The Staff Buy Them!

Miller Homes must be doing something right as one of its sales advisers has purchased her first home from the housebuilder.
Bethany McDonagh, 24, a sales adviser for the company, has purchased a stylish two bedroom apartment at the Fairfield Manor development in Wakefield.
"I had been looking for my first home and mistakenly thought that I wouldn't be able to afford a brand new one," said Beth. "The quality of second hand homes weren’t to the standard I wanted, plus I wanted my home to be as energy efficient as possible to keep the costs down after I had purchased. However, it wasn’t until I started working for Miller Homes at the beginning of last year that I realised there were many different ways in which I could purchase. I completed a Help to Buy application for a customer and suddenly realised that I may be able to afford a brand new Miller Home."
Beth has bought one of the last remaining apartments at Fairfield Manor through the Help to Buy scheme. A Government initiative, Help to Buy offers assistance for buyers who only have a small deposit of around 5% through the provision of a 20% equity loan from the Government for those who meet the qualifying criteria. This means that buyers only need to secure up to a 75% mortgage from a bank or building society.
Like many others Beth was living at home with her parents and wanted to not only get a foot on the property ladder but make a sound investment too allowing her to begin paying off her own mortgage rather than someone else's.
"Help to Buy is a great scheme for people like me and was the difference between staying at home or having a home of my own," said Beth. "The application process is simple and the sales advisers know the scheme well so there is someone to advise and guide customers through the process
"One of our members of staff utilising Help to Buy to purchase their first home shows immense confidence in the scheme and also the quality of our homes," said Steve McElroy sales director Miller Homes. "We wish Beth every happiness and will support her every step of the way, just as we do all our buyers."
Whilst all homes at Fairfield Manor have now been sold, Victoria Gardens - a small development of just 33 homes - is located at nearby Altofts, Normanton. Properties currently available include three bedroom detached homes from £196,500 and four bedroom detached from £254,995.
