Dundee railway station is two miles further east of the airport in the centre of the city. Nearer to Liff is an unmanned rail halt, Invergowrie, on the Glasgow Queen Street to Dundee line.
The village has its own primary school, Liff Primary and a nursery, The Red Squirrel nursery, and a Church of Scotland. The Neighbouring village of Birkhill provides Liff residents with a local medical practice.
As you would expect from a city centre, Dundee has an abundance of supermarkets, high street stores and independent retailers, an ASDA superstore is just over 2 miles from the village.
