The Best Walking Trails Right On Your Doorstep

The Best Walking Trails Right On Your Doorstep
The changing season brings with it a changing landscape, and there's no better time to enjoy the beauty of Scotland than in Autumn. The natural world turns into a kaleidoscope of vibrant colour, and we've listed some of our favourite walks to get you out and about this Autumn.

The Pentland Hills
Although renowned for being a bustling city steeped in history and home of country's best cultural attractions, Edinburgh also boasts some of Scotland's most picturesque walking trails.

Our Midlothian development, The Lea, is just six miles from the heart of the rolling Pentland Hills, where there are a variety of walks through enchanting woodlands as well as plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife. The easiest trail is through Flotterstone Glen and for those looking for a more challenging day out, there's Scald Law - the highest peak in the Pentlands which offers stunning panoramic views of the landscape.

The Campsies
In the west of Scotland, The Campsies have long provided the perfect escape from the city, and provide the backdrop to our Wallace Fields development, which is in  Robroyston. In spring and summer months they are alive with birdsong and wildlife and offer walks for all abilities, allowing the whole family to enjoy the beauty of the area.

The vast hills provide endless exploration and walks that take in impressive waterfalls, stretches of quiet woodland and extensive views.

Angus Coast
Starting in Carnoustie, just 12 minutes from our Ashludie Grange development in Monifieth, follow the scenic coastal path eastwards to the old fishing community of East Haven before finishing in the harbor town of Arbroath - home to the famous Arbroath smokie.

This easy trail is perfect for the whole family to either walk or cycle, and takes in beautiful views of the Firth of Tay.
