Consented land is land secured with a planning consent. This contracted or owned land forms the basis of the consented landbank. All land in this landbank benefits from at least an Outline Planning Consent, or a resolution to grant planning consent and will be delivered into the regions for build and sale in the short term.
Almost all our owned landbank benefits from detailed planning permission and to ensure capital efficiency works will begin on site shortly after acquisition.
It’s an important facet of the business to have a strong supply of land coming through, whilst striking a balance with capital efficiency and risk management. We target an overall consented landbank of 4-5 years, with the owned proportion representing 60% of the total.
