We are looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to join our Commercial Team in the East Midlands. The role of Assistant Buyer will see you provide support for Miller Homes Limited Commercial Department and assist with the procurement of material and plant, under supervision of the senior members of the team
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical support, inclusive of appropriate advice as required to the site construction team.
- Placing of orders with suitable suppliers for specified materials ensuring materials are delivered with the required programme and purchased competitively.
- Interaction with the supply chain to chase deliveries that may become overdue or urgent.
- Production and distribution of tender enquiries for appropriate materials, collation and analysis of quotations ensuring compliance with budgets.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working as an Assistant Buyer, or Buyer, ideally within the Construction or Engineering industry
- Ability to understand commercial aspects of decisions.
- Must be able to communicate well at all levels internally and externally to maintain effective working relationships.
- An understanding of the principles and practice of the procurement function would also be beneficial
