The terrain includes a Roman fort and an historic towerhouse as well as a diversity of wildlife habitats. It is also the location for several major events such as international races, exhibitions and fairs. In addition, Strathclyde Country Park is the site of the huge M&D’s theme park, with its whiteknuckle rides and indoor tropical rainforest.
Transport
Hamilton View is conveniently situated for both the M74 and the M8, making it an excellent base for travel throughout the central belt as well as to the centre of Glasgow. There are nearby train stations at Blantyre, Hamilton West and Hamilton Central, both on the main line to Glasgow Central Station. There is a bus station in Hamilton, giving access to a wide network of local and national routes, and both Edinburgh and Glasgow airports are around 37 and 26 miles respectively.
