Welcome to The Parsonage

Welcome to the Parsonage

Waterfront towns always have a special charm and Christchurch, situated at the huge natural harbour where two great rivers meet, has a history and a picturesque appeal that makes it an endlessly inspiring place to settle down. The superb Bronte Avenue development complements the open, natural ambience of its south coast setting with a delightfully landscaped selection of premium two, three and four bedroom homes, bringing a new opportunity for luxurious modern living into a well established and much sought after residential neighbourhood.

Living in Christchurch

Originally called Twynham, Christchurch’s name was changed during construction of the Priory in the eleventh century, when building materials mysteriously moved around and a beam that had been cut too short was miraculously lengthened. Divine intervention was credited, and the name of the town changed in thanks. Today, the magnificent Priory is one of the longest parish churches, and houses the oldest bells, in Britain.

Transport

The development is one and a half miles from the A338 Wessex Way, and three from Bournemouth International Airport. Christchurch Station, a short walk away, has frequent services to Weymouth, Bournemouth and London, and local buses services run along Fairmile Road.

Entertainment

The Regent Centre in the High Street presents films, music, comedy and dance alongside educational and community activities, and the galleries and museums around town include an intriguing Electricity Museum. There is also a superb international selection of restaurants, traditional pubs and cafés, and an annual Food and Wine Festival.

Education and Health

Christchurch Junior School and the adjacent Infant School, both with good OFSTED ratings, are within a few minutes walk and the local secondary is Twynham School, a mixed comprehensive. There is a choice of medical practices within a mile and a dental surgery in Christchurch Hospital, which is across the way from Bronte Avenue.

Shopping

A small local shopping area to the north has a newsagent and post office, an off-licence and a hairdresser. Christchurch and Highcliffe contain a wide selection of shops from high street names to unique speciality retailers, many of them in the covered Saxon Centre beside a large Waitrose supermarket. Christchurch also hosts a weekly open air market in the historic pedestrianised High Street with fresh produce, clothes and jewellery, and a monthly farmers’ market in Saxon Square

Recreation

Christchurch is a historic town offering a superb quality of life, with activities and amenities for people of all ages. From the quay with its colourful boats to the choice of great beaches for swimming and watersports, and the famous Beach Huts, the town is perfect for anyone inspired by the sea. For those who prefer green surroundings St Catherine’s Hill nature reserve, one of several in the area, is within a few minutes walk and Christchurch is close to New Forest National Park.
