Ten minutes’ walk from the Edinburgh Bioquarter and the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Manor Wood is situated in one of the most convenient areas of the capital for access to both the city and the wider world. Princes Street is less than four miles away, and the development is just one and three quarter miles from the City of Edinburgh Bypass, bringing the whole of the central belt into reach. Edinburgh Airport is approximately 13 miles away. Frequent bus services run past the development, linking it with the city centre and travelling on to Newhaven, Baberton, Fort Kinnaird shopping centre and Rosewell. One of the city’s night buses also serves the area.
The selection of shops nearby caters for all everyday needs. Half a mile away there is a small shopping precinct with a convenience store, a popular home bakery and a large Co-op incorporating a Post Office. Within approximately a mile, there are also Aldi, Morrisons, Lidl and Iceland supermarkets, a newsagent and a pharmacy. The development is also within easy reach of the major shopping centres at Cameron Toll and Fort Kinnaird, with their wide choice of superstores.
Edinburgh is one of the country’s premium shopping destinations. Celebrated names like Harvey Nichols and Jenners contrast with local traders, small antique shops and the characterfilled individuality of areas such as Newington, Portobello and Morningside. Alongside a superb diversity of bars, restaurants and nightclubs, the city has an outstanding offering of museums and galleries, theatres, cinemas and live music venues. The vibrant, diverse year-round programme of classical concerts, pub gigs, drama and special events becomes even more exciting during the city’s Festivals.
Nearby fitness facilities include a gym at Danderhall Leisure Centre and a swimming pool, gym and sports hall at Gracemount. Manor Wood is in easy reach of several golf courses including Liberton Golf Club. For relaxed walking or cycling, Holyrood Park, Blackford Hill, the Hermitage of Braid and the Pentland Hills are all in easy reach.
The local library at Moredun offers free wi-fi and other services, and hosts a number of activity groups for children and young people. Local Primary and Secondary schools are nearby. Healthcare provision in the immediate area includes GP services at Ferniehill Surgery, Brite Dental in Gilmerton Road and the comprehensive A&E facilities of Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

What our customers have to say...
“Everything has been easy with Miller Homes.”
“It just ticked all our boxes.”
Rather than just deciding on bedroom numbers, the size of the bedrooms was important. Not only can we fit beds and other furniture in each one here, but we have three bathrooms as well. It’s very good value for money.
“What they’ve promised, they’ve done; I think other home builders are lacking in that.”
For one thing, the timescales they gave me were really honest. I was happy that they were supportive and that they were able to answer all my questions.
“As you drive in there’s a nice stone wall and lovely flower beds. It's a perfect location.”
It’s very nicely kept and well thought out, so it looks very attractive, especially when it’s compared to other new build developments that are made up of houses and concrete that just look thrown up. Everything here is well thought out with the landscaping, the space in between the houses and a mix of different house types. There are quite a lot of fields at the back, and a nice forest walk that Miller Homes has developed. We’re not totally surrounded by other homes, and we’re still ten minutes from the city centre, close to shopping and close to the hospital.
“Sean the Site Manager went above and beyond what you would expect.”
Sean has been very helpful. When I called him he answered right away, and if he’s been walking along he’d always ask if everything was OK. When I needed something painted on the ceiling in my bathroom, a painter came straight away the same day I’d mentioned it.
I’d definitely recommend Miller Homes...
...because I think the process has been straight forward and the reassurance I received was key.
