A site manager from Miller Homes, who was the only Scottish winner in one of his award categories, is celebrating success after scooping two prestigious industry awards.
Kris Aitchison from Dunfermline, a site manager at Miller Homes Liberty Park development in Bathgate, was presented with the Best Site Award (Large Builder category for the North region) and Highly Commended Site Award at the NHBC Health and Safety Awards at a ceremony earlier this month.
The NHBC Health and Safety Awards are the UK's only health and safety awards scheme exclusively for home builders and are in their sixth year. Primarily designed to recognise and reward the very best in health and safety, the awards are also helping to drive up safety standards in the industry by showcasing and sharing best practice.
Winners are chosen from over 15,000 entrants across the UK. Only the top sites are awarded commendations and the very best in the region is highly commended. Sites are graded based on the multiple inspection visits carried out by NHBC.
Kris, 37, who recently won an NHBC Quality Award last month and has worked at Miller Homes for the last three years, said:
“I’m delighted to have been recognised. Health and safety is paramount on a building site and all the team ensure site rules are met and adhered to at all times. The fact I was the only Scottish winner to pick up the Best Site Award is fantastic given the vast amount of entries from all over the country.”
Stewart Lynes, Managing Director of Miller Homes Scotland, said:
“This is a great achievement for Kris and his site team and it is the best result Miller Homes have had in these awards. These awards are extremely important for our industry and it gives me great pride to see our site managers receive recognition for their hard work and commitment to building our homes safely and to the highest quality.”
