Leading housebuilder Miller Homes has been granted planning permission by Bromsgrove District Council for a development of 178 high quality homes in Wythall.
Alastair Parsons, Sales Director for Miller Homes, said: “We are pleased that planning permission has been granted. Our development has been well considered and will go some way towards addressing the current housing shortfall whilst enhancing the area at the same time.“
The housebuilder is hoping to start work on the infrastructure in late spring and have an on-site sales presence in the summer.
The development will be north of Station Road and to the east of Gorsey Lane and will comprise of a mixture of homes from one bed maisonettes to five bedroom detached family homes. Seventy-one of the properties will be affordable.
The development has been sensitively designed to preserve and enhance the outlook and visual aspects of the surrounding area, including an area of open public space at the centre of the site with a play area made up of wooden equipment. The land’s existing features, like the historic moat, will also be integrated into the site’s natural features. A pond will also be built in the north of the site to allow water to be kept on the land and to assist in controlling the levels of water coming off the site. As part of the Section 106 agreement, Miller Homes will make contributions to Meadow Green Primary School, public transport and community infrastructure.
