A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Buyer reporting to the Commercial Director to work within the Homes North East Region Commercial department.
You will be responsible for providing procurement services to Miller Homes developments throughout the assigned region under the supervision of the Commercial Director while managing the direct procurement of materials and hired plant in line with best commercial practice taking into consideration price, specification, quality and delivery to ensure smooth running of site and adherence to programme.
You should possess general knowledge of materials commonly used in the construction industry. Arithmetical competency is a key requirement in this role and computer competency specifically in relation to MS Word and Excel is required. Relevant HND / HNC qualification is desirable or qualified by experience and is an outgoing and confident person with excellent communication skills including an organised approach to work.
The role will be based in the North Shields office and will require regular travel across the Region.
