About the role
We are looking to recruit a Design Manager in our West Midlands reporting to the Regional Technical Director.
To produce high quality designs/layouts for developments at the land purchase viability and planning stages of a project,
To engage with local communities and other stakeholder interests as part of the pre-application planning process. On occasions to attend meetings with Local Authority planners and urban designers and be able to present the proposals in a positive light and negotiate where required.
To ensure that all layouts are submitted in a timely and efficient manner to Local Planning Authorities
To work closely with Miller Homes Limited planning/engineering team to obtain planning permission and ensure the subsequent delivery of units on site in accordance with the regional business plan/objectives
The ideal candidate will possess good presentation skills, to be able to prepare effective and meaningful site constraints/opportunities plans, to be aware of the latest Guidance and thinking on layouts, street scene and urban design matters from a business, site specific and regional/area perspective and to have a good understanding of the Building Regulations and the synergy that certain parts of the approved documents have with planning.
A Relevant HND/HNC or degree qualification is desirable.
