Halloween Interior Design Hacks

Halloween Interior Design Hacks

Halloween is a brilliant opportunity to create something spooktacular in your home, to thrill the younger and older members of your household alike. Here are some top tips for creating fangtastic Halloween interiors, inspired by some of our Miller Homes customers.

Be bold this Halloween

While it might still be a bit soon to start carving your pumpkins, take inspiration from the reds, oranges, and browns of autumn to create a Halloween vibe inside and outside your home.

Homemaker @southernoutlook has created an autumn details video on their Instagram to show you how they’ve accessorised their Miller Home before Halloween.

Bright orange paints on a feature wall in a kitchen, dining room, lounge or bedroom can also make a real statement all year round. During spooky season use some temporary stencils to add ghoulish details such as skulls, witches' hats and black cats.

Spooky sparkle

As the nights draw in, giving your home a sprinkle of stardust and evening glamour can create an enchanting atmosphere and brighten up those darker autumn nights.

Want to add some spooky sparkle to your home? Try using silver and orange glitter spread generously across trays and placed on coffee tables, sideboards, dining tables or footstools. Place a candle close to the tray, turn the lights off, and watch your room come to life!

Glittery mugs, candles, vases, pots, or even glittery roller blinds can add a sparkly pop to any room. See how @ccaryschapman accessorised our show home at The Grange for Halloween, with splashes of colour, glittery accents and sparkly bunting.

Use all your senses

Halloween interior design provides the perfect platform to explore all of the senses and create something which can be light or dark, scary or soft, and bold or subtle.

Pumpkin spice candles are the biggest hit in October, often paired with a certain style of seasonal coffee from a well-known chain, but there are plenty of options to choose from, with scents of cinnamon, spices, apples and trick or treat-inspired sweet notes, such as @rachelanna_home who added autumn candles to their Halloween décor.

The trend of wreath-making which is taking off across the country, inspired by social media ‘how to’ videos, can make us all an expert in making our homes sound and feel authentic ahead of Halloween. Our homeowners, @7_bells_athome and @southernoutlook have both excelled with their outdoor statements and wreath-making efforts, check out how they did it.

However you decide to style your home this Halloween, we hope you have a ghoulishly good time experimenting with some fun new styles and accessories!
