Dress Up Your Home This Hallowe'en

Dress Up Your Home This Hallowe'en

Whether you’re welcoming trick or treaters or hosting a frightfully big party, there’s lots of fun to be had when decorating your home for Hallowe’en. From pastel pumpkins to ghoulish ghosts, we’ve scoured Pinterest and Instagram to find some of the most on-trend decorations for your home and some delicious treats for your guests. These unique ideas will make sure you have the most autumnal home this Hallowe’en – or the most haunted house on the street!

Magical Mantles

Mantels are the perfect backdrop for spooktacular decorations. For a subtle nod to Hallowe’en, decorate your mantle with mini pumpkins, leaves and twigs just like this beautiful autumnal mantle from Hello October. Or if you’re looking for something more dramatic, add some spooky characters and drape your mantle with Hallowe’en bunting.

Stylish Pumpkins

For arts and crafts lovers, there’s a new way to style a pumpkin this Hallowe’en. We love these pastel pumpkins, from Bang on Style’s blog. There’s no messy carving, they look great indoor as well as outside, and they look so chic. Whether you’re painting mini pumpkins or a full size one, gold is a great colour for the finishing touches as its rich and perfect for Autumn. These sophisticated pumpkins will not only create drama and conjure a bewitching setting, but will last way beyond October 31.

Eerie Ambience

Nothing says Hallowe’en better than some eerie candlelit lighting. Sometimes the most simple decorations are the best and we love these mini pillar candles, decorated with scary skeleton and ghosts faces. Just grab a plain white candle, a black felt tip and start scribbling!

Make An Entrance

If you’re planning on opening the door to trick-or-treaters, focus your decorating energies at your entrance. Bare branches have a haunted-forest feel, and their height makes a statement as soon as you open the door. Add some ornaments, or stretch out cotton balls for the classic cobweb display. Groups of mini pumpkins make the setup feel full and festive and if you decide to mix in some larger pumpkins, be sure to place a protective layer between them and your wooden surface to avoid staining.

Terrifying Treats

Finally, Hallowe’en treats are a must! Googly eyes can bring the smallest things to life and we love these easy, delicious Hallowe’en snacks. All you need are chocolate biscuits, strawberry laces and icing for the eyes. Another easy trick is a ghosty milkshake – make your favourite kind of milkshake and fill up glass bottles, pop on some eyes and a ghoulish mouth and you have the perfect spooky drink!
