A popular destination with holiday makers for over a hundred years, recently North Berwick has enjoyed a rise in popularity with the in-the-know home buyer and it’s easy to see why.

A hike to the top of the hill behind the town, North Berwick Law, is a great vantage point to see how the town has grown up around the historic harbour, nestled as it is between two exceptionally scenic sandy bays. The Law offers incredible panoramic views of the countryside around. Look to the West and you can see Edinburgh Castle to the West and gaze to the North and you see the Firth of Forth, Bass Rock and Fife Coastline.

North Berwick

For commuters, the situation of the town is particularly good with speedy, regular trains in to the centre of Edinburgh from North Berwick station. Trains take about half an hour and there’s a bus service that runs in to Edinburgh too, taking around an hour. Driving takes about 45 minutes.

The town is flanked by two golf courses. To the West is the North Berwick Golf Club, a classic links course with a worldwide reputation, regularly holding championships, including the Final Qualifying for The Open in 2013, for the 6th time. To the East is The Glen Golf Club, also a links course with fine views of the Bass Rock. The elevated tees and greens makes it a particularly challenging course.

The town also boasts the excellent North Berwick Tennis Club which has six all-weather courts that hosts the annual East Lothian Open.

Miller Homes is in the process of building a new development, Ferrygate Meadow on the western edge of the town with prices starting at £349,995.
