Location, Location, Location – Longridge

Location, Location, Location – Longridge

It’s long been said that the three most important things when looking to buy a new home are location, location and location.  However, ‘location’ can cover many things whether it’s access to schools, transport networks, breathtaking views or even proximity to friends and family.

If we take a look at our fabulous new Romans Crossing development in Longridge, it helps us understand what the key elements are that go into a development’s location and why it is proving to be one of the most popular locations with house hunters in the area.

Located on the southern edge of Longridge, the development offers homeowners excellent access to bus, rail and road links to the region’s work places and shops.  With Preston less than 8 miles away, and the larger cities of Manchester, Liverpool and London available via the West Coast Main Line or M6, the location is popular with those who need access for work and yet who enjoy a quieter home life.

Having easy access to bustling centres means that there is a host of local amenities on the door. In Longridge there is a range of major and independent retailers including a post office, off licence, pharmacist, ironmonger, Co-op supermarket, clothing and gift shops, food takeaways and other speciality traders. There is also a farmers market held at the heritage centre once a month.

The beautifully refurbished The Palace cinema that dates back to 1912 and still reflects a classic silver screen ambiance and yet boasts the very latest digital equipment.  For those looking for more modern luxuries, Preston includes a modern multiplex cinema as well as The Guildhall and Charter theatres.

If you enjoy being busy or socializing at weekends, Longridge provides an superb range of restaurants, bars and traditional pubs as well as easy access to the southern edge of the Forest of Bowland where there are excellent local heritage trails as well as cycle and walking paths.

One of the key factors that make the location so good for families is having access to quality local schools.  Roman’s Crossing has easy access to a number of great primary schools including; Longacre C of E Primary, Barnacre Road Primary and St Wilfrid’s RC Primary all of which have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted.  For those with secondary school children, Longridge High and St Cecilia’s RC High are also found less than 15 minute walk away.

Having a home in a great location is also about enjoying the ease of everyday living, whether it’s the little things such as being able to pop out for a pint of milk to knowing where to take the kids on a bike ride. Romans Crossing has it all including a strong sense of community fostered through its traditional streetscapes.  With all this in place we’ve little doubt that proximity to friends will soon also be added as yet another reason why this is proving to be such a great location.
