Creating Themed Bedrooms for Kids

We've recently been bringing you some design tips for great kids' rooms courtesy of Yorkshire-based interior designer, Jeanette Holmes.  In the latest of the series, Jeanette talks about how to create themed bedrooms.

“I think themed rooms are a good idea, as they allow kids to be creative and to express an interest in their specific style, whether it be a football stadium or totally New York!

"A good tip though, if you are going to go for a themed room try and keep the large furniture items quite neutral.   That way if all the furniture is a good quality plain type, once the scheme is starting to look tired and in need of a refresh then it’s just the wall coverings and accessories that are changed and a whole new scheme can be created.

"This is a great cost saving exercise.  So as long as basics are simple then a themed room can be a great idea and easily adapted to suit growing kids without breaking the bank!"
