Miller Homes is named 'Large Housebuilder of the Year' at the 2008 Scottish Home Awards.

Nationally renowned housing developer, Miller Homes, has scooped the top accolade of 'Large Housebuilder of the Year' at last night's inaugural Scottish Home Awards. This comes hot on the heels of last week's announcement that Miller Homes has retained its 'Major Housebuilder of the Year' title at the Building Awards 2008.

Miller Homes, which was also short listed in the 'Luxury House of the Year' category for its Graysmill development in Craiglockhart, was honoured at the ceremony by a group of industry experts including Allan Lundmark, director of communications at Homes for Scotland, Margaret Curran MSP and Kirsty McLuckie, property editor of The Scotsman.

The glittering event was held in Edinburgh's EICC last night and was attended by the great and the good from Scotland’s house building industry.

Brendan McShane, managing director of Miller Homes (Scotland east region), who accepted the award on behalf of the company, says: "We are thrilled that Miller Homes succeeded in securing Large Housebuilder of the Year. This award is much coveted by the industry, which is reflected in the standard of the entries.

"Winning this accolade is also testament to the hard work, professionalism and dedication of our staff across the East and West businesses. They continue to deliver on every level the quality synonymous with our brand and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their sterling contribution."

Miller Homes, the largest privately owned housing developer in the UK, currently has nine active sites in east Scotland and eight in the west, including Thistle Gardens in Dunbar, Varcity in Edinburgh, The Headline Building in Glasgow and Ferry Village at Braehead.
