Miller Homes has scooped the What House Magazine Silver award for Volume Housebuilder of the Year for the second time in as many years.
Award judges said that 2005 had been, "A strong year for a class act" and commended Miller Homes' team on their approach to both marketing and customer care.
This year, Miller Homes became the first housebuilder to publish its independently compiled customer satisfaction results. Results will now be updated every six months and already show that nearly 90% of the company's customers would recommend Miller Homes to their best friend.
These figures are largely attributed to services such as www.mymillerhome.com which allows every customer to monitor the build progress of their new home online. Buyers can also choose to have email or text alerts at key stages of the build process.
Miller Homes - already the country's largest privately owned housebuilder - also entered the top ten list of UK housebuilders this year following its £264m acquisition of Fairclough Homes.
The company now has a presence in the Northern Home Counties for the first time and has expanded it presence in several other areas including the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands.
What House judges added; "Miller Homes' consistently impressive performance is reflected in the fact that that this is the second-year running that they taken the Silver award."
Miller Homes chief executive, Tim Hough, said; "Quality of service is something we take very seriously at Miller Homes. The fact that nearly 90% of our buyers would recommend us to a friend is no accident - we have worked hard to deliver a product and moving experience that buyers are happy with. In fact, we have changed our entire approach to dealing with customers over recent years and everyone is reaping the awards.
"It is great to see the industry recognise our achievements. To be seen as one of the best in such a competitive industry is fantastic - to hold onto this position year after year is even better."
