The British public has named Miller Homes as its "Housebuilder of the Year 2005" following a summer of online voting through Channel 4's dedicated property website - 4Homes.
Thousands of votes were cast over several months, with people choosing their favourite new build scheme of the moment. Miller Homes ultimately took the title for "Best New Home in the UK" for its Tower View scheme in Glasgow, beating names such as Bellway, Barratt and Redrow.
The win is the latest in a line of successes for Miller Homes. Last month it announced its acquisition of Fairclough Homes - a landmark deal for the new homes industry - which confirms the company's status at the country's largest privately owned housebuilder and takes it into the top ten list of UK housebuilders as a whole.
Earlier this year, Miller Homes also became the first British housebuilder to publish its customer satisfaction scores. Updated twice a year, the report shows that over 86% of the company's customers would happily recommend Miller Homes to their best friend - a figure which has shown year on year improvement since records began five years ago.
The development of initiatives such as mymillerhome.com, which allows buyers to monitor the build progress of their new home online, have contributed to this success along with a vigorous quality inspection process and award winning after sales service.
Marketing director, Philip Hogg, said; "It has been an incredible year for Miller Homes. To have this seal of approval from the general public is the icing on the cake.
"Channel 4 4Homes is a hugely popular website thanks to successful programmes such as Property Ladder, Grand Designs and Location, Location, Location. The kudos of an award won through this channel is fantastic.
"We are determined to build on this success next year - with even more attention to customer care, more innovative and attractive schemes and hopefully, even more awards as a result."
