Derbyshire Site Manager Scoops Top Award With Miller Homes

Derbyshire Site Manager Scoops Top Award With Miller Homes

Vinnie Morris

Miller Homes Midlands senior site manager Vinnie Morris has been awarded first prize in the house builder’s annual Safety, Health & Environment awards (SH&E).

The awards ceremony, held at the prestigious George Hotel in Edinburgh, saw Vinnie recognised for his work at Langley Country Park in the heart of Derbyshire.

Each Miller Homes development was assessed on various safety, health and environmental criteria including: Miller Homes standards, observed worker behaviour, site manager contribution, effect of adopted initiatives on SH&E, build programme and the degree of difficulty that existed on each site.

Seven winners were shortlisted from across all Miller Homes regions before progressing to an Area final. The Area winners were then further assessed by the SH&E director and chief executive, Chris Endsor, with Vinnie receiving a special engraved, glass trophy as first prize.

Chris Endsor said:

“These awards present us with the perfect opportunity celebrate the hard work of all our site managers. They should all be particularly proud of their achievements over the past 12 months.

“Vinnie has always shown exceptional standards of consideration towards the local neighbourhood and the general public, the workforce and the environment, and that is what the awards are all about. A huge well done to him.”

Vinnie Morris added:

“I’m absolutely delighted to win this award. At Miller Homes we’re always looking at ways to improve standards in safety, health and environment and I’d like to thank the whole team for their contribution and continued commitment to making our sites safe places to work.”
