Miller Homes Given Go Ahead for Major Monifieth Development

New homes from Miller

Leading housebuilder Miller Homes has been granted planning permission by Angus Council for a development of 164 high quality homes including 43 affordable properties on the site of the former Ashludie Hospital in Monifieth.

David Morgan, Land Director for Miller Homes, said: “We are delighted that our joint application with the site’s owner NHS Tayside has been granted subject to the completion of a legal planning agreement which is expected shortly.  Our development proposals have been well considered and will go some way towards addressing a long standing housing shortfall whilst enhancing the area at the same time.”

The development will comprise of a mixture of two, three, four and five bed private family homes alongside one, two and three bed affordable homes and will include the renovation and restoration of an impressive listed building on the site.

The housebuilder is hoping to start work on the infrastructure later this year.

David added: “We look forward to starting on site later on this year and anticipate sales will begin in summer 2016. During the life of this project  we will also be working carefully to ensure the attractive landscape setting within this brownfield site is both protected and enhanced for future generations “
