Forest Edge
Set in a designated Area of Natural Beauty on the edge of Hermitage village, and adjacent to mature woodland and open farmland, Forest Edge is a wonderful retreat, and an ideal place for children. Yet this haven of tranquillity, with its lively community life, is also an excellent commuter base.

Location
With its village store & post office, traditional pubs and primary school, Hermitage is a perfect English village and a much sought-after place to make a home.

Leisure
With miles of woodland and countryside nearby, Forest Edge is an ideal setting for anyone who enjoys walking, cycling, or just watching the wildlife and the seasons changing. Local attractions include Bucklebury Farm Park, three miles away, where there is a deer park, a pet farm, an adventure playground and an indoor play area, and there is a 24-lane Lakeside Superbowl at Newbury Leisure Centre four miles from the development. Hermitage village has a popular traditional inn, The Fox, dating from the 16th century, with a choice of bars, a dining room and an attractive garden. The famous Newbury Showground is about 1 mile away with events taking place throughout the year. In addition to its celebrated racecourse, Newbury, around five miles away, offers a wide range of activities, including the Northcote Leisure Centre with three swimming pools (one of them an outdoor heated pool), sports courts and a fully equipped gym. The town also has a wide selection of restaurants, cafes and bars.

Shopping
There is a convenience store and post office in Hermitage village, and an excellent range of local and speciality shopping, as well as high street names, in Thatcham and Newbury. Newbury’s picturesque pedestrianised town centre includes both the recently refitted Kennet Shopping Centre and a twice-weekly open-air market selling everything from clothes to farm produce.

Transport
Just five minutes from the M4, Forest Edge is an ideal base for commuting to Swindon, Reading, Basingstoke and London. There is an Intercity rail station at Thacham with services to Reading and London Paddington. Heathrow Airport is within half an hour drive, and the ferry terminal at Southampton is around 45 miles away.
