From central Edinburgh
Leave Edinburgh city centre by London Road, passing Meadowbank Stadium on the left. At the next traffic lights, carry straight on into Portobello Road, following signs for Portobello. After around a mile, at the roundabout, take the fourth exit to join Sir Harry Lauder Road (A199). A mile-and-a-half further on, at the Milton Road roundabout, take the second exit to enter Milton Link (A1), following signs for Berwick-upon-Tweed, and stay on the A1 for around 23 miles. At Thistly Cross roundabout go straight on, at the Spott roundabout, take the first exit, following signs for Dunbar, and carry on through the next roundabout to enter Dunbar, and take the next left turn into Lochend Road. After around 200 yards, just after Lochend Road bears round to the right, the entrance to Thistle Gardens is on the right.
From the City of Edinburgh Bypass
Follow the City of Edinburgh Bypass (A720) eastwards to the Old Craighall junction and take the third exit at the roundabout to join the A1, then follow the directions above.
