The Copse

The Copse brings modern apartment living into a popular neighbourhood with a strong sense of local pride and identity. Complementing the attractions of the Northumberland seafront with fast access to the A189 and Newcastle, these exciting new homes offer both convenience and character.

Outdoor activities

In addition to having several parks and open green spaces in the immediate vicinity, The Copse is in easy reach of the Blyth seafront with its two long beaches. The South Beach has been declared a Local Nature Reserve in recognition of the wide diversity of plants, birds, butterflies and moths that find a habitat there. Around three miles long, it extends from the mouth of the River Blyth southwards to Seaton Sluice. The popular and recently upgraded Ridley Park, in the town centre, provides a venue for special events such as a Christmas ice rink as well as being a relaxing environment in which to unwind and enjoy the open spaces and floral displays.

Sport and leisure
Blyth Sports Centre, around ten minutes’ walk from The Copse, is a superb multi-use complex which was recently the subject of a £2m refurbishment programme. The Centre incorporates a swimming pool, separate learner pool, a sports hall, a newly-equipped gym, squash courts and a dance studio as well as sauna and steam rooms. Additional sports, swimming and fitness facilities can be found nearby in the neighbouring town of Cramlington. There are also several golf courses in easy reach, including Blyth Golf Club, approximately a mile from the development, which offers a tree-lined par-72 course with some challenging water hazards and excellent greens.

Entertainment
Blyth has a wide selection of bars and clubs, many presenting regular live music, and the Phoenix Theatre in the town centre is a superb arts complex offering an extremely diverse programme. In addition to a 300-seat theatre presenting touring and local productions ranging from classical drama to comedy, musicals, rock concerts and pantomime, it includes a lively bar and an exhibition space in the foyer. There is a folk club in Cramlington, meeting in The Hind, and concerts are also held in the Concordia Leisure Centre. Blyth also has two annual fairs, one in summer and one at Christmas, in which the market place and surrounding areas are filled with fairground rides, street entertainers and stalls.

Shopping
There is a comprehensive choice of local shopping close to The Copse, including two convenience stores and a post office in Briardale Road and a supermarket in Brierly Road, all within around five minutes’ walk of the apartments. There are further local shops in Cowpen Road and the surrounding area, and for a wider selection the light, modern Keel Row Shopping Centre in the town houses a number of high-street retailers including New Look, Adams, Dorothy Perkins and Thorntons.

Transport
The Copse is just around half a mile from the A189, offering access to the centre of Newcastle in around 25 minutes. There are regular bus services, operated by Arriva Northumbria and Go North East, from the town centre to Newcastle and the towns and cities of Northumberland. There are also regular trains from Cramlington Railway Station to Morpeth in the north as well as Newcastle and Gateshead, terminating at the Metro Centre, in the south. The train journey into Newcastle takes a little over ten minutes. Newcastle Airport is just over ten miles away.

Health care
The Blyth Community Hospital and Health Centre in Thoroton Street incorporates four separate medical practices, of which the largest is the Waterloo Medical Group. The Health Centre provides a wide range of GP services and clinics. There is a separate practice in Gateacre Street staffed by four doctors and also offering specialist clinics, and a large dental practice in Cowpen Road, just yards from The Copse.
