For indoor fitness facilities, there is a Bannatyne’s Health Club in Myton Road, just a few minutes’ walk from The Hawthorns. Ingleby Barwick has a good local library, and there is a wide choice of nightlife and cultural amenities, including bowling, cinemas and theatres, within easy reach in Stockton and Middlesbrough.
Shopping
There are local shopping centres at Myton Farm and Greenside, both within a few minutes’ walk of the development. They offer a Safeway supermarket, a choice of fast food outlets, hairdressers, post office and other services. A more diverse selection can be found in the picturesque High Street of the neighbouring town of Yarm, around two miles away, and in Stockton and Middlesbrough.
Transport
The Hawthorns is within easy commuting reach of Darlington and Durham, and the A19 brings Tyneside within an hour’s drive. There are good local bus services to Yarm, Middlesbrough and Stockton, and rail links from Eaglescliffe, two miles away, to Manchester and Leeds and also from Thornaby, three miles away, to Darlington and London. Durham Tees Valley Airport is only eight miles from the development.
