From the A1
Leave the A1 to join the A694 Derwenthaugh Road heading south-west and follow signs for Rowlands Gill. Pass through Winlaton Mill, Rowlands Gill and Hamsterley Mill. Around a mile beyond Hamsterley Mill, you enter Hamsterley Village. Derwent View is on the right, just after the opening into Chopwell Road.
Note: There are two villages called Hamsterley in County Durham, within around 20 miles of each other. Derwent View is in the more northerly Hamsterley, close to Consett.
