Fairview Gardens

Nestling on the southern edge of Norton Golf Course, with open countryside stretching away to the north, Fairview Gardens combines its idyllic setting with an extremely convenient location adjacent to Junction Road, giving fast access to the A19. With its lively mixture of houses and apartments arranged around a tree-lined open space, this superb development is destined to become one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in the area.

Sport and leisure
Fairview Gardens is virtually on the edge of Norton Golf Course, a fine hilly 18 hole course with five lakes. The nearby sports complex in Station Road offers facilities for cricket, football, hockey, rugby, squash, tennis and bowls. The Forum Leisure Centre in Billingham, around three-and-a-quarter miles away, includes swimming and teaching pools, an ice arena, gymnasium and fitness facilities, a climbing wall and a soft play area. There is another sports centre and a swimming-pool near Stockton town centre and a tenpin bowling alley in the nearby Teesside Leisure Park.

Culture and entertainment
Offering a contrast to Norton's bars and restaurants, there is a planetarium and observatory in Wynyard Woodland Park which offers an opportunity to enjoy astronomy and participate in a varied programme of special events. There is a multi-screen Showcase cinema in the Teesside Leisure Park and a fine museum set in 100 acres of parkland at Preston Hall on the southern edge of the town, with displays covering art, armour and social history, including a recreated local street of the 1890s.

Health care
The Norton Medical Centre, just off Norton High Street, is a large GP practice which provides a range of ancillary services, from minor surgery and specialist clinics to physiotherapy and counselling.

Education
There is a wide choice of schools within walking range of Fairview Gardens.

Shopping
There are bakers and convenience stores within half a mile of Fairview Gardens, a selection of shops catering for all everyday needs in Norton – many of them in the tree-lined Norton High Street – and a convenient Tesco supermarket in Durham Road. Stockton's pedestrianised High Street is the site of a twice-weekly open-air market – one of the largest in the UK, and there are other shopping centres in the town at Castlegate and Wellington Square. Larger furniture and DIY stores can be found at Portack Lane, and a wide range of high-street names have outlets at Teesside Retail Park.

Transport
Norton is a convenient commuter base for Middlesbrough, Darlington and even Tyneside. Thornaby Station, approximately two miles from Fairview Gardens, has regular services to Middlesbrough and the east coast, Darlington and Manchester. Durham Tees Valley Airport is less than seven miles from the development.

Outdoor activities

Fairview Gardens is only around two miles from the magnificent Wynyard Woodland Park, a superb resource with extensive waymarked walks and cycle-paths, a sculpture trail and a fascinating themed Solar Walk associated with the planetarium in the Park. Wynyard Park also hosts a number of organised events throughout the year. Even closer to the development, Billingham Beck Country Park offers a wide choice of rambles and nature trails, and a fascinating range of wildlife habitats. A little to the south, the Tees Barrage, completed just over 10 years ago, has created a superb watersport area offering windsurfing, water-skiing, sailing, rowing, angling, slalom canoeing, powerboat racing and white-water rafting.
