Harrow Place
A small, prestigious development set on the edge of the Knighton conservation area, Harrow Place reflects the spacious, peaceful ambience of the leafy residential area which surrounds it. Close to the campus of Leicester University and just two miles from the city centre, these attractive homes offer a sense of both calm and prosperity in an exceptionally convenient urban setting.

Outdoor activities
Leicester is rich in parks and green spaces, with over 2,000 acres of open recreational land within the city. A short walk to the north of Harrow Place, Victoria Park provides amenities for skating and BMX biking, tennis, basketball, croquet, football, rugby and bowling as well as delightful walks and floral displays. Victoria Park is also the venue for a number of local festivities, including the popular Caribbean Carnival. A few minutes to the south, the Saffron Brook flows through the beautiful Knighton Park, which incorporates some delightful woodland walks and fascinating habitats. Adjacent to Knighton Park, the Oadby Golf Club, one of three golf courses convenient for the development, has a mature parkland course with the unusual feature of having nine of the holes on Leicester Racecourse, so that on race days only nine holes are playable. Other outdoor attractions of Leicester include the superb Watermead Country Park on the north of the city, with its river and canal-side walks, lakes and wetland habitats, and there is a riding school in Mere Lane, around two miles from Harrow Place.

Education
There are four primary schools within a mile of Harrow Place. For secondary education, the Sir Jonathan North Community School for girls and the Lancaster School, a specialist sport and arts college for boys, share a campus in Knighton Lane East, less than half a mile from the development.

Health care
There are medical practices within around half a mile of Harrow Place, ranging from a surgery in Queens Road, around 600 yards away, to a large medical centre staffed by four GPs in Springfield Road. The choice of dentists in the area includes two practices in Welford Road.

Sport and leisure
There are good local sport and fitness facilities at Aylestone Leisure Centre, around three-quarters of a mile from Harrow Place, where, in addition to two sports halls, there is a 25m swimming- pool, a teaching pool, soft play area and a bar and lounge. There is also a Cannons Health Club adjacent to Victoria Park, with a fully equipped gym, sports hall, swimming-pool, steam room, spa and sauna. Leicester Racecourse, which has one of the busiest programmes of flat and jump race meetings in the country, is also just a short walk away.

Transport
Harrow Place is close to Welford Road, which, in addition to being a route for several local bus services, offers fast access to both the city centre and the A563 ring road and on to the M1. Leicester train station is approximately a mile and a half from the development, and East Midlands Airport is less than 20 miles away.

Entertainment
There are a wide choice of entertainment and recreational activities within walking distance of Harrow Place. De Montfort Hall, just over a mile away, has a superb live entertainment programme that includes jazz, classical, comedy and West End musicals. Leicester city centre, with its large student population, has a lively and varied nightlife, and the city’s rich selection of theatres, cinemas, bowling and entertainment centres, museums and galleries, includes the exciting National Space Centre, with six superb themed galleries and state-of-the-art audio-visual technology.

Shopping
Local shops around Harrow Place include a convenience store and supermarket around a quarter of a mile away, and a choice of food and drink retailers in nearby Queens Road. In addition to a comprehensive spectrum of local specialist shops and high-street chain stores in the centre of the city, Leicester has a traditional market which has been in existence for over 700 years, and which today includes stalls selling fresh meat and vegetables, clothing, household goods and more. The city also hosts a monthly farmers’ market.
