The market town of Desborough, Northamptonshire, is set in a rural location with the convenience of having large towns such as Market Harborough and Kettering close by. Desborough itself has a varied selection of amenities, including, two Co-operative supermarkets, a clothing store, a furniture/electrical store, two pharmacies, a toy shop, a bakers, a butchers, a florist, a Post Office, a selection of newsagents, a travel agent and a hairdresser.
Location
Desborough is well appointed for takeaway food outlets and there are two pubs which also provide food. There is in addition, a selection of high street banks to use at your convenience.
The nearby towns of Market Harborough and Kettering both have rail stations, which offer commuters regular services to both London and Leicester. Access to the motorway network is also easily accessible from Desborough with the A6 and A14 a short distance from the town.
Desborough is well appointed for schools there being one pre-school, two infant schools and two junior schools. There is a choice of senior schools available to the residents of Desborough, these being located in nearby Rothwell and Kettering.
The local community also has the use of a public library, doctors surgery, a private dental practice and a large park including play facilities for children of all ages. Adjacent to The Grange Estate is a conservation area known as the Plens where you are able to walk dogs and take advantage of the cycle route which circles through wooded areas and leads you into the centre of Desborough. |
