Miller Homes, the eighth largest house builder in the UK, is still a privately owned family firm delivering the kind of thought, innovation and customer care that only a family firm can offer – we are proud of our reputation for quality and care. We operate through nine separate regional organisations, each responsive to local community needs, each underpinned by the ethos and values of family ownership.

Like the company itself, Miller properties have character that reflects their quality and enables them to fit sympathetically into their surroundings. Around 70% of the homes we build are created specifically for local needs. Our concentration on brownfield and inner city sites reflects our belief in urban regeneration, in fact over 80% of developments are built on brownfield areas. We have also taken a pioneering approach to building long-term customer relationships. Since 1999, the number of customers who would recommend Miller Homes to their best friend has risen from 65% to 85% and we are the only UK house builder to publish our customer satisfaction results twice a year in our customer magazine Spaces.

As a family firm, we take our responsibility to future generations very seriously. To consolidate and take forward our policy and practices, we worked with a specialist environmental consultancy to help us develop our Corporate Responsibility Strategy. The result is a firm set of targets, including total elimination of construction waste going to landfill by 2010 and a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2012. To ensure that intention is reflected in action, we have over 90 key performance indicators under ongoing review. We were proud to be the first house builder to publish its Corporate Responsibility Strategy and become founder members of the Next Generation Housing Sustainability Club, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability.
