Customer Satisfaction Winner - Homes for Scotland Innovation Awards 2007

Scottish housebuilding companies have won top awards for the innovation they have shown in addressing key issues such as the environment, the provision of affordable housing, involving local communities and improving customer service. They were presented by broadcaster Sally Magnusson and Deputy Chairman of Scottish Natural Heritage, Keith Geddes, at the Homes for Scotland Innovation Awards attended by 700 representatives of the industry on Friday 11th May.

Miller Homes picked up the top award for Customer Satisfaction by taking tried and tested practices to the next level to improve the house-buying process for customers through use of the internet. The ‘mymillerstreet’ website has been developed to show the key stages in the construction process and to enable customers to familiarise themselves with their neighbourhood, their neighbours and even their carbon footprint.

Keith Geddes, Chairman of the judging panel said: “We were very impressed with the consistent high standards demonstrated by house builders through their entries. The winners successfully demonstrated that their particular idea was at the cutting edge of the industry’s attempts to develop genuinely creative ways of doing things.

“We are strongly of the view that the Homes for Scotland Awards are a powerful driver of best practice. As such they play a crucial role in taking the industry’s reputation forward, this is particularly important at a time of greater public scrutiny and rising consumer expectations.”
