Bill is Best in the Country - Again!

Bill Hughes has beaten thousands of site managers across the UK to take the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) supreme ‘Pride in the Job’ title for the second year running.

With a one in 17,000 chance of winning, very few sales managers take the “supreme” accolade in their working life. Only five people in the scheme’s 25 year history have won the award more than once.

Bill currently manages one of Miller Homes' largest developments – Regent's Square in the North West.  He is overseeing the construction of all 94 homes with a team of between 70 to 90 people on site.

Bill said; “Winning last year was a dream come true.  To win twice was beyond my wildest dreams.  I couldn’t have done it without the support of a fantastic team.  Everyone who works at Regent’s Square takes a pride in their job and that has been reflected in this award.”

Bill beat thousands of NHBC registered site managers and survived four rounds of intense judging over 12 months to get to this stage.  As part of the process, his work was also checked by NHBC Building Inspectors, Regional Directors and independent experts all looking to find the site managers who build homes to the very highest standards.

Miller Homes’ Chief Executive, Tim Hough, added; “This is a fantastic result for Bill. To be put into a competition against every single site manager in the UK and come out on top for two consecutive years is an incredible achievement.

“Bill takes an enormous pride in his job and will always go the extra mile to deliver high standards for customers. He is an inspiration to everyone else on site and to the rest of the company.  The award was certainly very well deserved.”
